GEAR
At a stoppage, Novexa is able to carry out several important control processes facilitating wear gear management.
Fissure controls are carried out on carter, shell, gearbox, gears and tires.
There are three different methods to control fissures :
The out-of-round increases wear speed of pinions by dislocation of the pitches. The out-of-true increases fissure risks because of the localisation of load distribution on the edges. We offer :
Correctly aligned gear generates fewer vibrations.
Actually, wear generates backlash in the kinematic chain. An excessive backlash fosters the movement of vibrations, which is amplified even more by profile deformation of the harness pinion / crown.
In a correctly lined machine, these guidance elements will wear off less quickly and interventions will be needed less frequently.
Our equipment provides us with shimming values of the gearbox, the motor and the auxiliary drive knowing that Novexa will have previously confirmed the adjustment of pinion with the crown.
The analysis of an adjustment of the mill starts with its level and the conditions of its trunnion bearings.
We dispose of two tools to control geometry :
Additionally, Novexa offers relief measurement and measurement of pinion conditions as well as conditions on stops and trunnion roller expansion (free bearing) on trunnion bearing.
Novexa offers complementary controls during running production (global vibrations, temperature, stroboscopic controls).
Analysis carried out during production can give essential information about the condition of equipment in order to understand the kinematic chain beside production halts.
We give special attention to a tendency analysis, to obtain information about rotative defects and global vibrations of the harness.
Measurements are taken horizontally, vertically and axially on bearings and bedplates.
The obtained data is necessarily analyzed taking into account the wear levels, gear profile deformation and temperature levels on bearings and gear teeth. Actually, a single vibration measure does not provide information about wear levels, it is only a result of other defects. We have already encountered many situations in which an intervention has been necessary despite a low vibration level.
After fifteen years of experience in this area, we have been able to develop a simple and efficient predictive maintenance project to offer our clients.
We carry out temperature measurements on the harness in order to detect gaps in running range, as well as on bearings, allowing to detect defects caused by wear, absence of lubricants and other short-term risks.
These measurements are conducted on the gearbox with a temperature measuring pistol or a thermographic analysis.
This method is linked to an observation of teeth or other rotative equipment, which can be safely accessed.
A first visual analysis can confirm the previous temperature measurements, underlining alignment defects caused by worn off bearings. Several cases of teeth breakages can be explained by a wrong anticipation of wear concerning guidance elements.
This type of measure contributes considerably to the development of a true predictive maintenance analysis.
Novexa has always been an expert in managing wear speed. As a privileged partner in the industry, Novexa disposes of a long record of interventions regarding wear of gear, reprofiling, consulting and audit.
As of today, Novexa has developed its service range even further : our unique know-how applies to the wear of tires, alignment control measures and linked services ( bearing scrapping, welding repair etc.) as well.
