Precise adjustment measures are essential

Precise adjustment measures are essential in order to avoid premature wear of equipment. We have found out that in almost 90% of the cases, precise adjustment measures would have hindered the up-coming of damages. Actually, roller adjustment measures provoke wear of the cones and of the steps on the edges, as well as axial constraints, which are not taken into account for calculations.

Precise adjustments can only be carried out correctly on tires or rollers whose generatrixes are perfect. It is always possible to carry out these measures in other circumstances, however a perfect result cannot be guaranteed.

The conditions for correct adjustment measures are :

• Perfectly cylindrical tires
• Perfectly cylindrical rollers, parallel to the tires
• Generatrixes of less than0.04 mm of flatness
• Roller adjustment of 1 or 2 couple of tire rollers, ascending or descending,
  in order to obtain the minimum pressure on axial rollers
